Bible Codes

The following is a detailed look at the information contained in the youtube video series “Bible Codes 1/8”. See also “We Were Warned TORAH Code 2012”. These codes use a computer program to do ELS searches. ELS (Equidistant Letter Sequences) simply means that the computer searches for a specific word or phrase, with a specific skip interval per letter. The database of the program is the Hebrew Old Testament with all spaces taken out from between each word, creating a long sequence of letters, as it was originally written, up until the time of Ezra.

The TORH (Torah, or books of the Law, Genesis through Deuteronomy):

One of THE major skeptic interjections is that random words can be found "encoded" in any sufficiently long text. The difference in these and Bible codes, is that Bible codes not only express a cohesive idea time and time again (whereas other codes only occasionally do this) but the Bible code in the following example, as well as in (M3) show how the number for the sequence skip is contained within the actual text. This is one of THE most compelling arguments for the divinly inspired nature of Bible codes there is. These types of examples are the ones to seek out.

In the book of Genesis and Exodus you can go to the first Tauv, or T that appears in both books, then go 49 spaces forward and take the 50th letter you get a Vauv, or O, 49 spaces forward again and the 50th letter there is Reysh, or R, continue in the same manner you see He, or H. This spells TORH, or Torah in Hebrew. Leviticus has nothing like this. Numbers and Deuteronomy do have the same occurrence, with 49 spaces and take the 50th letter, except that Torah is spelled backwards, HROT. This points to the center book, much like the Menorah points to the center, more elevated candlestick. It is also interesting to note that it was 50 days from the exodus out of Egypt, to the giving of the law, or Torah. The number 50 also represents the year of Jubilee, as set forth in Leviticus 25:8-55. This is a period of 7 x 7 = 49 years, with the 50th year being the Jubilee, where in all servants were freed, and all debt was annulled.

Now if we look at the center book of the Torah, the book of Leviticus, we can go to the first Yod, or Y, and skip 7 intervals taking the 8th letter you find an He, or H, skip the same again to find Vauv, or W, skip the same again and we see another He, spelling YHWH, or Yahweh, Jehovah, God’s personal Name.

Professor Daniel Michelson at UCLA has estimated the probability of this happening by accident is less than 1 in 3,000,000.

Messianic examples:

(M1) In Genesis 1:5 beginning with the first word, counting every 172 letters, spells Yeshuah, the Hebrew equivalent of Jesus.

(M2) At the end of Deuteronomy, counting in reverse, 172 letters “The Messiah” in Hebrew.

(M3) In Exodus 20 we find the ten commandments. Exodus 20 has 179 words. Using that number as a guide, you can skip every 179 letter, and you find the phrase “Salvation of the Lord, Jesus is My Name”.

(M4) Some skeptics will say that the name Yeshuah doesn’t necessarily mean Jesus of Nazareth. Well, let’s look at Isaiah’s Messianic prophecies contained in Isaiah 52 and 53, which is known as the suffering servant Messianic prophecy. Words found encoded within this passage include: “Yeshuah”, “The Nazarene”, “Messiah”, “Mary” times three, the two high priests “Ananias” and “Caiaphas”, “King Harod”, “Pilot”, as well as many of the names of Christ’s disciples. A total of 41 names are found in this brief passage, that all surrounded Jesus’ life and ministry.

Other examples:

(E1) One might say, “This could have been engineered by human scribes”. Well, when you search for “President Kennedy” in an ELS formula, you find it, and if you continue the sequence immediately past that phrase, the very next words that you find in the same skip sequence are “to die”. “Dallas” is also encoded in the vicinity of those words.

(E2) When you use an ELS to search for “Shakespeare”, the next words in the same equal distant skip sequence say, “will present plays on stage”. “Hamlet” and “Macbeth” are encoded in the same area.

(E3) The Oklahoma bombing appears in the code under the words and phrases: “Murrah building”, “Oklahoma”, “His name is Timothy”, “McVeigh” all in the same vicinity of one another.

(E4) Watergate is also in the code under: “Watergate” and “Who is he? President, but he was kicked out”.

(E5) “Economic crisis” is encoded one time in the Scriptures, and it is accompanied by “The depression” and “1929”.

(E6) The collision of the comet Shoemaker-Levy with the planet Jupiter on July 1994 is also in the code. The exact name of the comet was discovered twice in the code, and the name “Jupiter” actually crosses the comets name in both cases that the comet’s name appears, with one of the instances saying, “Will pound Jupiter”. With one of the codes was found the exact day of impact 8th of Av on the year 5754 on the Hebrew calendar, which is the equivalent of July 16th, 1994.

(E7) WWII codes include the words/phrases: “Hitler”, “Nazi and Enemy”, “Evil man” and “Slaughter”.

(E8) “Princess Diana” was along side “Spenser” which was her real name. Here we also find, “Whales”, “Paris”, “France”, “Tunnel”, “river” The Hebrew year “5757” which is 1997, “Av” or August (The Gregorian and Hebrew calendars do not have the same month parameters, and each year is different as to which Gregorian months correspond with which Hebrew months). The name of Diana’s friend “Fayed” who was killed with her is also there in the code.

(E9) The US Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania are found in the code as well. These include: “Embassy” which appears as the center of this particular matrix, with “USA” crossing over embassy 3 times. Also is found “Nairobi Kenya”, “August 7th 1998”, “In the morning”, “10:45”, “247”, “kill”, “murder”, “truck, “bomb”, as well as the names of the 3 alleged terrorists. All of these are accurate facts concerning the Kenya bombing. The video didn’t mention specifics on the Tanzania bombing.

(E10) The stock market crash of 2008 also appears under “in the year 5768” the Hebrew equivalent of September 20th 2008, “Stock market”, ”Shares” and “Fell”.

(E11) Also “5772” (2012) and “time of redemption” are found in the same place, along with many other concerning words and phrases.

(E12) And yes, even the code itself appears. In Genesis 22:2, counting every five letters spells in Hebrew “The lattice work of Equidistant-letter sequence”.

The original search:

The 3 scientists, Eliyahoo Rips, Doron Witztum, and Yoav Rosenberg, who first created the formula for the computer program that was designed to search for ELS codes, used only the book of Genesis as a test subject. They used the names of 34 of Israel’s most influential sages, as well as their dates of birth, and of death, to see what they could find. All 34 names were found along with either their date of birth, or date of death. Another researcher later by the name of Harold Gans, a senior cryptologist for the US government, reproduced the experiment using his own program, and found the exact results of the original test. Gans took the experiment one step further by searching also for the Rabbi’s places of birth and death. He describes his results as more significant than that of Witztum and Rips without going into detail.

The findings were reported in “Statistical Science” for pier review, and possible publication. Nothing is published in Statistical Science, until it’s been thoroughly reviewed by at least one independent referee. In this case however, the results were reviewed by three independent referees. After it was published, a statement was issued by 5 mathematical scholars, 2 from Harvard University, 1 from Yale University, and 2 from Hebrew University, which all supported the findings.

Death prediction:

In 1994, Michael Drosnin discovered a code that seemed to point out that then Israeli Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin would be assassinated. One year later, Yitzhak was killed, in the very year that this Bible code said that he would be killed. The code was the only instance in the text where the Prime Ministers name appeared, and it was directly crossed over by the phrase “assassin will assassinate”.

Skeptic interjections:

(Q1) All manuscripts of the OT are not totally consistent. Which one do you use?

(A1) The Torah has been in its present form, according to all authorities, for an absolute minimum of 2,000 years.

(Q2) You can find similar codes in any book.

(A2) While this is technically true, it is also a miss-direction. You will not find large bodies of words, which form a concise picture that concerns future events to the original writer.

(Q3) The code clusters claimed by so many allow for too much wiggle room in terms of the parameters of the searches. In other words, you can keep changing the search parameters until you find something that suits your cause.

(A3) Independent researcher Dr. Alex Rothenberg performed a search in the book of Genesis, looking for the names of the ten sons of Haman, exactly as they are spelled in the book of Esther, which was written hundreds of years after Genesis. The search also included their date of death, which was the same for each son. All names were found, as well as several instances of the death date. One of the codes for the death date, if continued past the date itself, spells out Purim, which was the Jewish holiday that was created in honor of Esther’s triumph in saving the Jewish people, and defeating the decree from Haman to eradicate the Jews.
