Deborah Beth-el

12-?-09 D.D. 09 "DEBORAH BETH-EL"

This dream takes the form of a movie. It is the story of a married couple, and their entire relationship, from courtship, to death. The dream begins at the funeral of the man's wife. He is simply looking, stoically, up at the sky, as if he is blocking all of his emotions, yet I am aware of them. He is contemplating what went wrong, and what he could have done to change the outcome Immediately following this, the scene shifts to the early courtship. The man was a very endearing, and charming and persistant with the young lady. Now we see the midway point of their relationship. They are now simply going through the motions of a marriage. (1) Their relationship is dead. The house where they live is very nice, and they are clearly doing well in their finances. The butler makes his way upstairs where the couple are, and introduces a woman. "Miss (2) Deborah Beth-el" he proclaims. The man's face turns absolutely demonic with lust over the woman. I was already aware of the meaning of the word Beth-el, which means in Hebrew, "house of of God." Because of this I knew that there was a holy significance about this woman, and the man's reaction enraged me. It occurred to me that I needed to look up the name Deborah and it's meaning, and then the dream was over.

Genesis 35:8

Following the dream, I looked up the meaning of the name Deborah, which is the Hebrew word for a bee. I also looked up the occurance of this name in the Bible. There are only two women in the Bible by this name. The first is Rebekah's nurse, who is only mentioned the one time, in the verse in which her death is recorded. Genesis 35:8 "8. But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Beth-el under an oak: and the name of it was called Al-lon-bach-uth (oak of weaping.)"

The prophetess

The only other woman named Deborah in Scripture, is the prophetess and judge of Israel, who's only mention is in Judges 4 & 5. I have looked up the meanings of the names in this story, and will insert them into the story, written in bold. These will be followed by the number from Strong's concordance in parentheses. Also, the green and red color coordination is to link similarities between the dream, and the passage of Judges, which I had never read, until after the dream.

Judges 4:1-24

1. And the children of (the) contender (#3478) again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when (1) joining together (#261) was dead. 2. And the LORD sold them into the hand of whom He (God) concidered (#2985) king of humiliation, (#3667) that reigned in (the) village; (#2674) the captain of whose host was a field of battle, (#5516) which dwelt in the working of wood, or of stone ( #2800[2799]) of the Gentiles. 3. And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel. 4. And a bee, (#1683) a prophetess, the wife of torches, (#3941) she judged Israel at that time. 5. And she dwelt under the palm tree of a bee (#1683) between a lofty place (#7413) and (the) house of God (#1008) in mount twin land: (#669) and the children of Israel came up to her for judgement.

It is important to note that the chief source of income in woodworking and stoneworking towns of the Gentiles, was idol making. I believe that God is warning us (and me in particular) about the idols that we set up in our hearts.
